Two summers ago I was in Ethiopia with my father and a colleague of his that are involved in some water projects in Ethiopia, primarily in Axum (due to a Sister Cities relationship that was forged between the city of Denver and the city of Axum) He came up with the idea of me shadowing him and his colleague and the work they've done so far and making a quick documentary out of it (my first one) and I liked the idea. I shot the video then and put it all together the next summer into a final product about 15 minutes long. The first half details the problems that Africa as a whole faces in regards to climate change and the trends that have been spotted for some time now (you will be bombarded with research here), while the second half revolves around the water problems facing Axum, using it as somewhat of a case study that may shed some light on what other areas of sub-Saharan Africa may be facing..
